Apartment-Hunting in Paris

France is a very popular country among foreign students and by choosing the city for their stay a lot of them feel discouraged by the high prices, especially in Paris. For that reason many students decide to study in  a smaller city to minimize their cost of living, although Paris is the “city of their dreams”.

At this point I can tell you two things: Yes, Paris is quite expensive.  BUT. What carries the most weight are the rents and therefore I’d like to recommend you a few addresses to facilitate your search and to assure you that studying in Paris IS affordable!

Another very interesting concept is the “Cité universitaire” which is an area with several student residences, subdivided in “countries”. From Argentina to Tunisia, Germany and Denmark: You will definitely find “your country” there, which doesn’t mean, that e.g. Italian students are hosted in the Italian house, German students in the German house etc. To guarantee “cultural diversity” the nations are mixed, which allows maximum intercultural exchange and fun!
